Timeline

Television career

Since 2000 and living between New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii, Christine is a veteran camera operator and field producer with experience in video production, producing reality television shows, news, online shows, corporate events and live shows. She was a Shooter-Producer on MTV reality television shows like My Super Sweet Sixteen, Engaged and Underage and True Life. In New York, MTV shows often required a one or two-man field crew to produce an entire episode from casting shoot to completion .

Relocating to her native home of Hawaii in 2012 – after taking a gap year to live/ work in South Korea and backpacking- Christine is one of two female camera operators working in Hawaii’s live event industry. Christine filming great event highlights and troubleshooting video in live/virtual/corporate events, while gaining global reach through YouTube marketing with her own travel brand,  GRRRLTRAVELER , where she films and takes audiences inside the realities of female solo adventures with food, culture, long-haul flights and off-the-beaten-path adventures.

Her YouTube channel has been viewed in 189 countries, has a global following and brings in local co-hosts as experts. Christine works on international campaigns with brands, tourism boards and curated sponsor partners, who want to amplify their messages to attract global audiences.  Christine is highly selective of the partners she works with.

The weekly travel show has had a positive impact on reluctant soloists and has launched hundreds of successful first time solo travel careers!

( To be successful at content creation, you have to be able to juggle crafting content regularly, know algorithmic updates, master SEO + a ton of software, have multiple funnel strategies and sacrifice sleep! )

In 2002, she became a speaker and coach on the Youtube Monetization.

Home and Training

Christine has lived in Hawaii, Los Angeles, New York , St. Louis and South Korea and everywhere she travels is a home-away-from-home.

She holds a Master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in Interactive Video & Computer Arts. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts at University of Southern California, before transferring from Washington University in St.Louis, where she was a scholarship recruit for volleyball and went on to win the NCAA III National Championships in Collegiate Women’s Volleyball .

When she’s not traveling or juggling freelance projects, she cares for her cute diabetic fur baby , Tinker and is likely editing videos or learning the latest software app/algorithm/marketing trend to engineer her next big video project.

– Christine is a SAG-AFTRA actress that has appeared in commercials, television and film

– Awarded a “New Leonardo of the New York Digital Salon 2003,” for her MFACA Thesis, an Interactive Video Installation, The Listening Pillow. Participants lie on a bed and navigate through a video database of alternating dream sequences and stories, while controlling their experience through head movements on a pillow that has absorbed a dreamer’s dreams.  The piece touched on themes of technological disembodiment and the presence of the Other.

– Her video installation Symphony screened in festivals at New York City (at BAM in Brooklyn, Engine 27, Remote Lounge), Ghent, Argentina, London, Antwerp, and Chicago.
